{Music: Adrift in Aether – Joep Beving}
October started with beautiful misty mornings
that woke the feeling of finally coming home
to myself again after a long and stirring journey.
The whole year I felt like having no ground
under my feet, no matter what I tried.
No digging in earth could truly ease that feeling,
but the return of the mist and otherworldly atmosphere
finally spread a blanket of shelter and peace around my being.

Ok last comment for now - since I’m still catching up on your posts from the beginning (I read a page of them at a time ;) and I’ve already commented twice before today - haha. But I couldn’t pass by agreeing out loud with you on your clear love of the mist 🤍🩵 There is something much more to it than simply a meteorological event, isn’t there! One of my favorite moments of my entire life was when I was maybe 15 and I walked out at night (we lived in the country) into a heavy fog that had rolled in. I could see absolutely nothing but the whiteness (I assume the moon must have been out to provide some glow for that at least?). It occurred to me as I walk silently around it in that Hollywood would turn that journey into some horror flick or crime moment but instead of being creeped out, I totally felt at one with the mist: enveloped in, not necessarily loving way I wouldn’t say, but an intensely tangible calm and peace. Not many years ago now, I learned about the Sidhe, the People of the Mist and wonder now if I hadn’t stood on the doorstep to their world that night while they kindly let me observe and feel and commune with that aspect of The Almighty they wander in naturally. I think I’ll pay attention more to the next misty night here and see if I can gently approach that gate again.
(To be quite honest, we have so many skunks here that I don’t usually walk at night. I love them, but also can’t afford, having a pillow business, to have an accidental run in with one 😬 Our dogs already do and it’s rather a nightmare 🤣)
