Luckily, I painted them all beforehand, otherwise the challenge would have been a washout for me, as I still have to spend the most time in bed. On this last day of May, I will show you all the paintings I did in this very productive month! Most of them were for the #maykind challenge (hosted by Anna Shepeta). The #LazyLines_SlowTimes drawing challenge is officially ending tomorrow, but I use the free moment to post all my paintings here today already! I hope you like my interpretations of the prompts!

Yesterday I finally decorated the Christmas tree and today in the morning I made two more sorts of cookies, because everything I baked before Christmas was gone already. We made a little trip to the wood quarter, because we heard they had snow today, but unfortunately it was already melted when we arrived. But on our walk we found a beautiful wood glade with a little frozen lake that we have not seen before and were able to breathe a lot of fresh forest air! I'm off again, but wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

Dear people, maybe you noticed my sudden absence, I wish I could tell you that I made an intentional break from the internet world to just enjoy Christmas time, but unfortunately that was not the case. Ronald came home with very high fever and terrible pain from work in the middle of December and I cared for him some days until I got really really sick myself to the point where I was not able to sit upright in bed or walk to the toilet alone as my circulation was so bad that I would collapse as soon as I tried. Even when I was lying and closed my eyes I would start to faint and this would give my body kind of a shock every time, followed by a terrible feeling of nausea and I was not able to eat and every sip of water came back immediately which was really scary, because at the same time the high fever was eating me away from the inside. Days went by and I started to become a shadow of myself and really stuck. I don't know why my body struggled so much, maybe because of my health preconditions. I better spare you more details of how terrible it was, today is day 17 of being bound to bed and I slowly try to fight myself back to life once again. The worst is really the circulatory insufficiency and the permanent nausea. I'm really not good in handling those two symptoms. The pain is a whole other story, but this feeling of sickness and unability to digest anything is always horrible for me. When it goes on an on and you can not make a break for a moment and you can not at all distract yourself, when such a state resides, I tend to get depressed after a while which makes it even harder to improve. 

To speak of other things finally, I joined the #merrymakers drawing challenge in December. Here are my contributions! I was not able to continue, so one prompt is missing, but maybe I will finish when I am able to improve my current state and am able to paint again.

Merry Christmas to you!

I can hardly believe that I managed to finish all paintings for this years "Advent challenge"! It was really against all odds! So much personal and painful things have been going on the last weeks. We also had to cancel our Christmas plans, were not able to visit my family, but sometimes life goes just different paths and since many years I feel that it is harder to plan anything at all. This feels sometimes bitter, but it also has it good sides like everything has two sides on this earth place.

Hopefully you like my interpretations of all the prompts we had been given for this years Advent challenge. First I thought some of them will be really tricky, but in the end I tried not to overthink it too much and see what comes out. I hope you had a nice celebration and are enjoying those days before New Year. I personally like them very much, they seem so calm and inviting to reflect about everything and making oneself ready for a new start.

First of all: Happy May!

As May is usually the month where I feel most energetic & creative and mentally & physically stable, I am looking forward to this month! I worked a lot in the garden lately, yesterday I sowed flowers, did weeding and watered the trees and plants for hours as it is still so dry here, even though it rained regularly a bit in April. We have been on a mini vacation in the mountains on the weekend which was a truly wonderful time-out. It is still very cold in the mountains of course, but the fresh air set me up and we saw ibexes which was amazing! I did film a bit, so you will probably see a little video of our trip soon. I also joined a new drawing challenge, the #springcreativitychallenge and I made a spring flower garland for Sunny. It became kind of a spring ritual for me to make him a flower garland every year around that time. This time I used ground ivy flowers and it looked so cute on him. {Pictures will follow} Ok, enough for now, may this month treat us well!

As I told you earlier, I joined the drawing challenge #bloomingmarchweek at the beginning of this month. I was really happy when hearing about this challenge, because it helped me to keep a positive focus and distract my mind of all that is going on in this world. I really like doing series of paintings, picking a certain color palette so that they all match with each other.

Today in the morning I was finally able to open the kiln to see my first high firing ceramics! What an exciting moment! As I had no experience with this at all and never made any classes, I was worried a bit, but it all turned out wonderfully and I can't wait to make pictures of all the pieces!
