When a storm broke down my dahlias, I cut them and made the biggest dahlia bouquet I ever made and it looked stunning! By now I have pulled the tubers out to store them in the cellar over winter. I'm looking forward to try out a different sort in the coming year. Do you have also flower plans for next year?

It's fun to make big bouquets, I did that once when the wind snapped lots of stems and they all needed cutting. We've not had a frost yet, or at least not a hard froat, and my dahlias are still covered in foliage and buds that won't do anything now, as it's too cold and dark. Next year I want to try zinnias again as I didn't have success this year, and I'd like to grow some amaranthus too. There are so many flowers I'm excited to grow, I really have to restrain myself! What new varieties do you plan to try?
@Nina: Danke, liebe Nina! Oh ja, wie haben auch einen kleinen Kaki Baum, aber er hat leider noch nicht getragen, mein Vater hat einen großen, von dem er schon sehr viel ernten konnte, aber bei uns ist es immer schwierig mit solchen Sachen wegen der Kälte im Winter und Frühjahr. Die Minigurken hatte ich letztes Jahr! Was ich an denen praktisch finde ist, dass sie sich eher später entwickeln, wenn die anderen Gurken schon dem Ende zugehen und dann fangen die Minigurken erst richtig an. Bei uns holt es gerade so richtig an Regen auf! Liebe Grüße zurück! <3
@Stephanie: Yes, I usually let the most flowers just stay in the garden and don't cut them so much, but when the plants get damaged, I rescue them or also before mowing the lawn, I pick some wild flowers to rescue them from the mower. But it is actually really nice to have such a big bouquet! Zinnias are very sensitive to cold in the early stages, so I usually wait some time until I'm sure the morning frosts are gone. I hope they will grow at your place next year, they are so beautiful! I want to sow paper flowers again, different kinds and try grey/blue poppy again. I got some seeds from a friend. <3
