*birds

One of my happiest winter moments:
Observing this flock of birds.

*watercolor update

Happy to be able to show you another watercolor painting update! The silver haired, tea drinking girl was a commission I painted for a kind lady who contacted me over instagram. The "spring in the garden" pattern is now available in my spoonflower shop! Further I am planning to re-open my etsy store, but I still need to do a lot of preparations. DaWanda is not existing anymore, unfortunately. I hope you are all doing well and have a productive day!

*one day of snow

Pictures from that one day in January when it was snowing. Winter landscapes have such a calming effect on me. I also often dream of snow. In some of these dreams I feel the cold, while in others I can move freely without freezing.

*running

Lots of work at the moment, juggling several different projects while the storms rush over the roof. I can’t believe that the second month of the new year is almost over already. Time must have been blown away by the wind too!

*how does it feel

While it’s already starting to feel like spring outside, there will still be winter here on my blog for a while. Everyone is talking about the spring flowers they are already seeing in their area, so I went for a walk in the forest to see if the snowdrops were blooming—but they need a bit more time. Instead, I found some bright yellow winter aconites. At first, I wanted to pick a few, but then I didn’t, as the forests are in such a devastating condition. I ended up observing a bee that landed on one of the flowers instead.

It also seems that this might be the last year for snowdrops in that forest, as so many trees have been cut down that it’s now too dry for them. It’s a sad scene out there. It’s hard to stay positive when you see all the damage to nature that has become so extreme over the last few years. In my pictures, I try to preserve the beauty of nature. Go out and enjoy the forests as much as you can – you never know how long they will be there.

*watercolor update

It's time for another big watercolor update! I have been quite busy again and try to paint in every free minute. I'm still in the learning process, and right now I am trying something different, but it's too early to show you yet. Nevertheless I really love experimenting with this wonderful medium! I hope you also enjoy my new paintings! We had a tiny bit of snow today, just a little bit of white and the air smells so good right now from the dry cold.

*ice garden

One of my favorite kind of weather situations: When the air is moist and cold enough to create these little ice needles on the surface of everything outside.
