How has your October been so far?
We have made another canoe trip, actually it's a kayak, but I always mistake them. It was just before the weather changed and it got really cold and rainy again afterwards, so we were lucky.
I'm still working on a painting project that lasts the whole October. I will show it here as soon as I am finished! I tried out two new cake recipes, both cakes turned out really tasty. Somehow autumn always motivates me the most to bake and try out new food creations. Also I am already daydreaming about which flowers I will sow in our garden next year. I ordered some seeds that I want to try out. Recently I had visits from a grasshopper that rested every day in a different one of my zinnia flowers. Observing nature is one of my favorite things and lately the skies are so beautiful, especially in the early mornings when the crows are passing by and the moon is still visible in the east. I hope you are making the best of this beautiful month and see you here soon again!

Liebe Claudia! Dein Hündchen ist so süß! :) Und die Äpfel sehen super lecker aus. Pflanzt du jetzt eigentlich noch irgendetwas an oder hörst du im Herbst Winter komplett auf? Ich habe mich jetzt zum ersten mal an Winterhartesgemüse gewagt, ob es was wird mal schauen. Nächstes Jahr hätte ich gerne einen klein bleibenden Apfelbaum. Ich liebe den Geschmack von Äpfeln sehr! Liebe Marie! Für gewöhnlich mache ich im Winter eine Pause mit Gärtnern. Ich habe noch immer Karotten und Pastinaken zu ernten. Aber bin dann auch immer froh wieder mehr Zeit für andere Sachen zu haben und dann erst im Frühjahr wieder neu zu starten. Aber bin schon gespannt, wie es bei dir wird mit dem winterharten Gemüse! Ja, unbedingt einen Apfelbaum pflanzen! Es gibt nichts Besseres als Äpfel vom Baum zu pflücken und direkt zu essen! Mir schmecken sie dann viel viel besser als wenn sie mal gelagert waren. Liebe Claudia, dass mit dem Gemüse hat sich wohl erst mal erledigt. WIr hatten in der letzten Zeit so viel Regen, dass mein Beet ständig unter Wasser war - es kamen erst ein paar Pfläzchen - leider sind sie durch den Regen kaputt gegangen. Jetzt warte ich schon die ganze Zeit aber es sieht nicht gut aus. Vielleicht sollte ich auch wie du erst nächsts Jahr wider weiter machen. Trotzdem sehr schade.
