*when everything was still in full bloom

When everything was still in full bloom.

This year, I had a sunflower in the greenhouse. Not really essential, but fun! Everything ripened super fast, yet also started to wither earlier because of the long, steady heatwave we had – almost no rain at all! The first grapes were ripe at the end of July!

*stone houses & sea glass

When I’m at the beach, I can’t resist collecting all sorts of things – natural sponges, shells, pretty stones, and sea glass. It’s the perfect way to clear my head of all worries and pains.

Evening strolls at the beach. I loved all the stones with their natural, engraved patterns, formed over centuries.

*Dugi Otok

This year, we decided to explore the Croatian island of Dugi Otok during our summer vacation. It is the largest of the North Dalmatian islands (45 km long and 1 – 4 km wide) and has a beautiful nature park with a natural salt lake. There are no big cities or crowded areas – just a few small villages and two camping sites that opened only a few years ago. We stayed at the campsite near the lighthouse in the north of the island and explored the whole island bit by bit, both with our van and on foot.

There were many amazing viewpoints, and the villages were so charming with their old buildings. I love their simplicity!
