*summer of feathers

This summer I keep finding so many feathers! Most of them are from the hawks that are living close to our house. You can not imagine how good they smell! It's similar to the smell of a baby head.

But there is also a feather from a swan, raven, magpie and a little one with a yellow part, it might be from a greenfinch.

*summer lilac

With my butterfly summer dress under the butterfly lilac. (at least this is how we call the summer lilac in Austria) I don't want this summer to end! I don't feel ready for autumn yet, even though it is one of my favorite seasons. How about you? I still need more warm sun on my skin to be ready for the cold again.

*Drying herbs

Drying herbs for winter.

For those interested:

I cut them with scissors, because I find it easier than using a knife. I dry them in the oven at 50 degrees, leaving the oven door slightly opened, so that the moisture can escape. Every now and then, I turn the herbs while drying until I feel they feel ready. Then I let them cool down and store them in jars. It's so easy and practical – you don't have to buy all those herbs later in the year!

When I first saw the second picture, I had to laugh so much! I don't know, it just amused me how it turned out! When I took it, I assumed that parts of my body would be visible too, but as you can see, only my face is visible, which makes it even better.
