Some analogue pictures from the first frost, unfortunately only a part turned out well, because it was too cold for the camera. Typical Zenit issue!

We are having the first snowy weekend here. It is lovely and sets the right mood for the coming month.

*Silver & Gold & the very first frost

In the middle of October when we had the first frost,  I took my bike in the early morning hours to drive up the hill to experience the sunrise and have a cup of tea in midst of the silver and gold shimmer of the frosty grasses and wildflowers. I thought it would be nice to take you with me.

When the daylight dissolves in mist, it's time to enhance your inner light and reflect it to the outer world to keep your life bright.

I'm in love with the contrasts this season holds for us.

*Watercolor update

Three more new watercolor paintings.

On Sunday we had the very first snow. It changed into rain quite quickly, but still, it was so nice to see the hill tops and roofs covered in white.

*a still life in a still life

When it got cold a bumblebee was sleeping all day in one of my dahlias, it was so sweet to look at, the morning sunlight was beautiful at that day and the mist was slowly crawling over the fields. I made a little still life with an earthen jug that I have from the German ceramist and sculptor Joachim Lambrecht. Photography always calms me down and I love the concentration that keeps me present in the moment. She is my trusty company in good and heavy days.

*pink treat for the eyes

When a storm broke down my dahlias, I cut them and made the biggest dahlia bouquet I ever made and it looked stunning! By now I have pulled the tubers out to store them in the cellar over winter. I'm looking forward to try out a different sort in the coming year. Do you have also flower plans for next year?

*fairy ring

On our little forest getaway I saw this beautiful fly agaric fairy ring in the high grasses. Fly agarics remind me of my childhood days, we do not have them in our area here a lot and this year was a very bad mushroom season anyway. Hopefully next year we have more luck again!

*new watercolor paintings

Three more watercolor paintings that I made recently. Of the elephant will soon be folded cards in my shop. I need to still make product pictures of them, but we have pretty gloomy days lately, so it's hard to get decent photos with the poor light condition. I'm going slightly into the direction of Christmas with my paintings and have some new other ideas that I want to bring to life, but working on a new commission right now that needs most of my attention. *October gifts

October was full of nature gifts and the most beautiful lighting moods. I started a cure with birch polypores (a highly potent medicinal mushroom) that I found on my walks and we stayed some nights in the forest again and were witnesses of a wonderful full moon!
