Wrapping my last gifts. Feeling relieved and ready for Christmas to come :) Soon I will make a blog break, I will also close my shop for that time. I will hopefully come back with a free mind and lots of energy for new crafts. And I am wishing you the same!

Still no snow

Some pictures of yesterdays evening walk. Still no snow! I can not remember that it ever in my whole life was like this before. There were times where we had only little snow before Christmas but it was never no snow at all.

Christmas tree

I don't have much time at the moment, but yesterday we collected our tree and that is always something that makes me happy. The smell of the fresh fir tree in the living room, I just love it! Today in the morning I decorated it and Sunny was busy collecting all needles to take them to the carpet. He does that also with all his toys every day :) I wish you all a lovely weekend!

Autumn gift swap

A while ago Mina invited me to join her handmade autumn gift swap project and yesterday I got my package. It is from Lotte, what a surprise! Thank you so much, Lotte, for all the beautiful things!

Snail mail treasures

I got snail mail from Indra again, I didn't expect it at all! It was filled with great things from her trip to Tokyo. I feel very honored that she thought of me when she was there. She even brought me the current stamps!

Granny square blanket

Do you have a lot of UFOs (unfinished objects) lying around at home? These granny squares have been waiting to be sewn together now for over 10 months. I'm quite happy with the result and relieved, I nearly thought it won't happen anymore. Have a wonderful 3. advent!

Baking

Guess what! I baked! It's true! I can hardly believe it! I am 30 years old and the only christmas cookies I ever made was gingerbread back in 2002 and one time meringue with my friend Simi (you can see the movie here) back in 2007. Now on the 10. of december 2011 I managed my third time :) I searched for the easiest recipe that I could find, changed it a bit and it worked! I'm very happy 'cause you must know I normally have no patience at all in the kitchen and I am the queen of burnt food!

The recipe (for 2 persons):

50g sugar (I used brown sugar, I never have white one at home)

100g butter

150g flour

1 egg

cinnamon + cocoa powder {you can experiment here}

Knead all ingredients for the dough and place at a cool place for half an hour.

Roll out the dough and cut the cookies.

Bake in the pre-heated oven at 170 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Happy snail mail

Look what I had in my mail this week. A package from dear Barbara, isn't it great? Next to all the lovely pictures and postcards she even made me a pair of crocheted wristlets. They fit perfect! Thank you so much! I appreciate everything you sent me!

Tinsel garland wreath with apples

Last year I made this tinsel garland wreath by a tutorial from Creature comforts. When I put it out of my Christmas box this weekend I thought it would be nice to make a new one. And to mark the occasion I finally lit the candles of my secondhand candle holder that was waiting over 4 years on my shelve to be used. Have a good start into the week!

Naked trees

Have been in my hometown again. No signs of winter anymore, on Tuesday the sun was shining so warm that we were able to lie down in the grass. It nearly felt like spring. The naked trees, so beautiful.
